Hygie31 Group announces a strategic partnership with the Quartz consortium of pharmacies
Following on from an alliance with Magdaléon at the start of the year and five other transactions since 2021, this strategic alliance with Quartz strengthen Hygie31's presence on the pharmacy market in urban and suburban centres in Paris and the Île-de-France region and, at the same time, bolsters its position with laboratories. The Group intends to network French regions that are still not covered by the local consortia that have already joined its ecosystem, via new acquisitions, in order to ensure that Healthcare is accessible to everyone.
The Quartz consortium of pharmacies, founded in Fontenay-Sous-Bois, in the eastern suburbs of Paris, in 2021 by Charles Parain, Doctor of Pharmacy and licensed pharmacist since 2007, and Michaël Khiat, Doctor of Pharmacy and licensed pharmacist since 2005, currently totals over 115 pharmacies mainly spread across the Île-de-France region and generates cumulated turnover of around 200 million euro. Quartz's constant growth reflects its members' trust and its strong community spirit.
This strategic alliance enables Quartz to boost its relationships with partner laboratories, generic manufacturers and distributors and, as such, betters affiliate pharmacists' profitability. Thanks to the service catalogue provided by Hygie31, the clinical and service-focused approach of Quartz pharmacies will be strengthened, as administrative management will be simplified and pharmacy teams will be supported in carrying out and developing new healthcare tasks. As such, licensed pharmacists will benefit from new technological and digital services, personalized support via new management tools and a more extensive training programme. Last but not least, pharmacists will also have access to a wide range of in-house brands (over 100 references in 6 categories), which comprises innovative, premium-quality products at highly-competitive prices. This partnership will also provide Quartz network pharmacists with access to the Group's own procurement platform, HYGIESTORE, and will boost their presence on the medical equipment and home care services segment, thanks to privileged access to products distributed by Distrimed, a company acquired by Hygie31 Group in December 2023.

"Following on from the success of the alliances with Pharmacorp (562 traditional local pharmacies), Pharmacyal (146 pharmacies in the Hauts-de-France region and Magdaléon (104 pharmacies located in the Grand Est region), this merger transaction with Quartz marks a decisive step forward in Hygie31 Group's development policy. It enables us to boost our geographical position in Paris and in the Île-de-France region, and to ensure optimal access to healthcare in densely-populated urban and suburban areas. The entrepreneurial spirit of Charles and Michaël, both Doctors of Pharmacy and licensed pharmacists of their own pharmacies for almost 20 years now, will also bolster our clinical approach to pharmacies, and I'm delighted to welcome these two highly-complementary figures into our ecosystem," comments Hervé Jouves, Hygie31 CEO.
"This alliance with Hygie31 paves the way for an incomparable offer for pharmacists, where our expertise in developing pharmacies will be combined with the comprehensive offer of a pivotal player, i.e. this Toulouse-based Group. Our strength lies in our ability to imagine bespoke solutions, by helping each pharmacy implement personalized levers for growth. Thanks to this new alliance, our members will benefit not only from our support but also privileged access to exclusive agreements with laboratories, the power of the central procurement platform HygieStore and a selection of exclusive brands. This synergy will enable us to offer an incredibly powerful comprehensive solution, which will boost our pharmacies' competitiveness and will ramp up our development to an even more ambitious level." About Quartz
The QUARTZ consortium, founded in 2021 by Michael Khiat and Charles Parain,
highly-experienced pharmacists, was born out of the observation that, although the offers made by
existing consortia provided some solutions, they did not fully cover their specific needs, as
constraints often tended to outweigh advantages. As such, they decided to create a structure that
would enable pharmacists to benefit from levers for growth, while ensuring they would remain
independent. Today, some 115 pharmacies across France have placed their trust in them and
share this vision.
